Interview excerpts:
There is inherent interdependence. There is no true independence - and the natural consequence of this is that everyone should work together on what unites and connects us both to ourselves and to the planet.
I think we can solve every problem on the planet if we initiate adults…there is no such thing as independence, we are co-dependent…we breathe the same air, we are united in love and abundance. I’d like to live in a world where we have a declaration of interdependence.
Being around nature can provide inspiration, community and offer a transformed perspective.
The wonderful thing about having a garden, even a little one, is that you are in-touch with the Earth…it somehow grounds you and provides you a way of interacting with other people. Being able to see the way the Earth works, even our cities, gives us real inspiration and hope.
There is a need for more time to appreciate the important things in life. Our work systems and schedules often prevent us from enjoying essential time with our family.
How do we reconnect people with their families, how do we reconnect adults with our young people? We need time. And we don't have that time. And so having time with my daughter and granddaughter now is great, but I feel like I missed so much of them growing up… I had to go to work.
